City Leaders, Community Members Come Together when Holocaust Memorial in Boston Vandalized
Police were called by a witness to find a glass panel on one of the memorial’s 54-foot-high towers shattered.
The memorial that opened in 1995 is on the Freedom Trail near Faneuil Hall and City Hall and remains open at all times.
The six glass towers are lit internally and etched with millions of numbers that represent tattoos on the arms of many Jews sent to Nazi death camps.
Vandals steal bronze stars from Holocaust memorial
Police in Massachusetts are investigating after vandals stole two bronze Stars of David that had adorned the symbolic grave of a young girl killed in the Holocaust. The artist reated the memorial for his sister who died in the Holocaust, has called the theft a hate crime.
